Kathmandu. Based on the real life of Basanti Pariyar, who managed to survive the acid attack, Nabil Bank has launched a social awareness campaign. Basanti Pariyar is one such woman who was attacked not only by acid but also by six times with the intention of ending her life by stabbing her to death.
Surviving the acid attack, she no longer wants to be a victim but wants to make a name for herself as a hero. Moreover, despite not being able to forget the pains of the past, Basanti is moving forward as an inspiring woman who has the courage to fight against those pains.
Nabil Bank has taken this initiative to support Basanti's courage, bravery and self-confidence campaign. Through this campaign, Nabil aims to portray beauty in a new way with the message of emphasizing the inner strength and potential of human beings. Moreover, Nabil is trying to expose the dark and light sides of the acid attack.
To launch the campaign, the bank has produced an awareness video depicting Basanti. In this connection, the bank has organized a panel discussion with experts from different fields on March 6. Senior Social Engineer Ujwal Thapa, Media Person Aarti Chataut, Senior Superintendent of Police Durga Singh and Dr. During the panel discussion with Rozina Silpkar, questions were raised about acid attack and various aspects of our society.
The panel discussion included discussions with experts in various fields on laws against acid attack in Nepal, past / present scenario of acid attack incidents, medical care / assistance available for acid attack victims. The bank believes the discussions will help boost confidence in acid attack victims and raise public awareness about acid attacks.
