Kathmandu. Statistics show that foreign exchange reserves are not low. According to the data published by Nepal Rastra Bank, Nepal still has foreign exchange reserves for 6 months and 21 days. According to Nepal Rastra Bank, foreign exchange reserves stood at Rs 1.171 trillion as of mid-February. According to the NRB, this reserve will be able to support the import of goods and services for 6.7 months (6 months and 21 days).

However, foreign exchange reserves have declined sharply. According to the NRB, the total foreign exchange reserves decreased by 16.3 percent to Rs. 1171 billion in mid-February from Rs. 1399.03 billion in mid-July last year. In US dollar terms, such reserves decreased by 18.5 percent to Rs. 9.58 billion in mid-February 2078 from Rs. 11.75 billion in mid-July 2078.

Remittance income has started declining during this period. Remittance income declined by 1.7 percent to Rs. 631.19 billion. It had increased by 8.7 percent in the corresponding period of the previous year. In US dollar terms, remittance inflows declined by 3.0 percent to Rs 5.28 billion. Such inflows increased by 5.0 percent in the previous year, according to NRB.
