Kathmandu. An agreement has been signed between Nabil Bank Limited and Heffer International Nepal with the objective of promoting entrepreneurship, financial literacy and financial access to women entrepreneurs and small farmers.
On behalf of Nabil Bank, Chief Executive Officer Anil Keshari Shah and National Director of Heffer International Nepal Dr. Shubh Narayan Mahato signed. Dr. Mahendra Nath Lohani, Senior Vice President of Heffer International Nepal, Sujit Kumar Shakya, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Nabil Bank and Lila Prasad Ojha, Manager of Nabil Sustainable Banking were also present on the occasion.
The agreement has been signed between the bank and Heffer International Nepal to provide loans and financial literacy under sustainable banking to women entrepreneurs and small farmers involved in vegetable farming and fisheries and animal husbandry such as goat rearing and cattle rearing. The main objective of this partnership is to focus on evaluating and developing the business expansion potential of women entrepreneurs and small farmers.
Social entrepreneurs, women's cooperatives and local governments of various places are also involved in the scheme on behalf of Heffer International Nepal. Women cooperatives or local governments will identify and recommend entrepreneurs and make it easier for them to connect with banks.
