Kathmandu. Commercial banks have been able to maintain a loan-to-deposit ratio (CD ratio) of 90 percent. Some commercial banks have been able to maintain a CD ratio due to non-increase in deposits in banks. There is a policy to maintain a CD ratio of 90 percent. Banks have not yet been able to maintain the CD ratio.
At present, it is a challenge for 10 commercial banks to maintain CD ratio. At present, some banks have a CD ratio of 95 percent. With only 10 days left till the end of July, 10 banks are under pressure to maintain a CD ratio of 90 percent. However, it is not possible to reduce the CD in 10 days. Because banks are not getting deposits.
According to Nepal Rastra Bank, pressure has increased on Nepal Bangladesh, Bank of Kathmandu, Century, Prime Commercial, NCC, Global IME, Kumari, Sunrise, Siddhartha and Nabil Bank to maintain CD ratio. The CD ratios of these 10 commercial banks are 95.79 percent, 95.31 percent, 94.03 percent, 93.26 percent, 92.36 percent, 91.73 percent, 91.62 percent, 91.09 percent and 90 percent respectively. 87 percent and 90.06 percent. Nabil and Siddhartha Bank, on the other hand, find it easier to maintain a CD ratio.
