Kathmandu. Nepal Rastra Bank Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari has clarified that he is not a member of the CPN-UML. For the past few days, Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank Maha Prasad Adhikari has been criticized for being a member of the CPN-UML.

On Wednesday, the CPN-UML issued a letter of explanation stating that the person named M Adhikari was not the current Maha Prasad Adhikari of Nepal Rastra Bank. In the letter, UML central office secretary Bhishma Adhikari has claimed that Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari is not in the finance department and there is no policy to keep those in government service in any department of the party.

The ruling Nepali Congress, CPN-Maoist Center and others are demanding the resignation of the official saying that the party cadres cannot be the governor. Similarly, stock market investors are also shouting slogans of resignation in the streets.
