Kathmandu. Nepal Rastra Bank has instructed NCC and Kumari Bank to go for merger. In separate discussions with the presidents of both the banks, the high officials of the Rastra Bank instructed to find a partner and go for the merger by December 2022.
'We want to reduce the number of banks to 18,' the Rashtra Bank source said, 'The banks that have agreed to merge now will surely decrease to 22 after the integrated transaction, now it is our intention that 4 banks would have gone to the merger, so NCC and Kumari are the first targets. Yes.'
According to Rashtra Bank sources, the presidents of both banks have expressed their commitment to find a suitable partner and go for merger by the end of January 2022. "We are confident that they will go for the merger within the stipulated time," said a Rastra Bank source.
Similarly, the National Bank has advised Sunrise Bank to go for merger. In the process of resolving the dispute between the Board of Directors and the CEO in Sunrise Bank, the National Bank suggested to go for the merger. Rastra Bank suggested to go for merger after concluding that the structure of the investors will change and the disputes in the board of directors will end.
