31.5 billion income tax paid by commercial banks of Nepal

Kathmandu. 26 commercial banks have paid income tax of 31.5 billion rupees in the last financial year. In the last fiscal year 2078/79, 26 commercial banks paid a total of 31 billion 47 billion 46 million rupees in income tax. National Commercial Bank has been seen to pay the highest amount of income tax. This bank has paid a total of 2 billion 23 billion 46 million rupees in income tax. Similarly, the second is Global IME Bank and the third is Nabil Bank.

In the last financial year, Global IME Bank has paid income tax of 2.194 billion rupees, while Nabil Bank has paid 2.13 billion rupees in income tax. Banks also have to pay taxes under other headings.

According to the Internal Revenue Department, NIC Asia has become the bank that paid the highest tax in the last financial year. However, NIC Asia Bank has paid 1 billion 91 crore 54 lakh rupees as income tax. 12 commercial banks have paid more than 1 billion in income tax, while a dozen commercial banks have paid less than 1 billion in income tax.
