The relatives have accused the manager of a bank in Birganj of killing his wife because he did not get the dowry as per the demand. Sapna Kurmi, sister of the deceased Pinky Kurmi held a press conference in Birgunj today and alleged that Dipendra Prasad Jaiswar, the branch manager of Nepal SBI Bank in Sripur, Birgunj, son of Murari Raut Kurmi, a resident of Bara, Kalaiya sub-metropolis-1, killed her sister for not giving a car as dowry to her sister.

Sapna Kurmi said that even when the in-laws gave 40 lakh rupees, 10 tolas of gold, and clothes as demanded by the in-laws in her sister Pinky's wedding, they demanded a car and when the in-laws did not give the car, Pinky was facing domestic violence. She has also alleged that when they went to the administration against the domestic violence against their sister for a long time, they were going to make a settlement under the pressure of the big leaders of the political parties.

Last time on August 27, Pinky was seriously injured due to the beating of her husband and family and was admitted to Advance Medicare Hospital in Birganj. However, as his treatment was not possible there, he was taken to Chitwan Medical College on 28th for further treatment.

Due to severe head injury, he underwent head surgery in Chitwan. After Pinky's health became complicated, she was taken to Medicity Hospital in Kathmandu for further treatment. He died on October 2 during treatment.

Manish Kurmi, brother of the deceased, said that according to the post-mortem report received from the hospital, he died due to injuries all over his body and head injuries. Meanwhile, the Bara police have detained the deceased's husband for investigation on murder charges.
