Kathmandu. Banks and financial companies are announcing dividends in a hurry. The companies have declared dividends to their shareholders from the profits of the last financial year 2078/79.
Out of 26 commercial banks in operation, 11 banks have announced dividend distribution to their shareholders. Apart from these, 15 other commercial banks are preparing to declare dividends.
So far, Citizen Bank, Kumari Bank, Sanima Bank, Nepal Credit and Karmash (NCC) Bank, Global IME Bank, Bank of Kathmandu, Standard Chartered, Nepal Investment, Everest, Prabhu and Mega Bank have declared dividends.
Out of which, Citizens Bank, NCC and Kumari Bank have passed the resolution of dividend distribution after completing the general meeting. All these three banks proposed to give 9 percent, 11 percent and 12.50 percent dividends to their shareholders respectively from last year's profits.
Similarly, Sanima Bank received 10.98 percent (10 percent bonus and 0.98 cash) from last year's profit, Global IME Bank received 3 percent bonus and 10.60 percent cash for a total of 13.60 percent, Bank of Kathmandu received 6 percent bonus and 14. It has proposed to distribute 95 percent cash dividend.
Similarly, from last year's profit, Standard Chartered Bank only paid 16.51 percent cash dividend, Nepal Investment Bank got 4 percent bonus and 7 percent cash dividend, Everest Bank got 13 percent bonus and 7.68 percent cash and got a total of 20.68 percent, Prabhu Bank got 8 percent ( 6.5 percent bonus and 1.50 percent cash) and Mega Bank has proposed to give 4 percent bonus and 3.83 percent cash dividend.
