Why NRB action to dozen of commercial banks of Nepal ?

Kathmandu. Half a dozen commercial banks have come under the action of Nepal. The Bank Supervision Department of the National Bank has taken action against 9 commercial banks, bank presidents, directors and chief executive officers.

Bank of Kathmandu, Krishi Bikas Bank, Prabhu, Kumari, Prime, Himalayan, Sunrise, Global IME and Mega Bank have been prosecuted. By issuing a notification, the National Bank warned the banks against operating accounts that were instructed to be withheld, charging more premiums after making loans and giving loans at interest rates lower than the base rate.

It is mentioned in the notice of Rashtra Bank that Krishi Bikas Bank has violated the laws and instructions related to asset recovery. Krishi Bikas Bank has been fined 20 lakh rupees for this.

Similarly, it is mentioned in the notice that the Chief Executive Officers of Prabhu, Bank of Kathmandu, Kumari and Prime Commercial Bank have been alerted because they were found to have transacted transactions during the weeks instructed by the Bank and Financial Institutions Regulation Department to withhold.
