Kathmandu. Foreign investment has been approved in more than 5,500 industries in Nepal so far. It has been seen that relatively more investments have been made in tourism and service industries. According to the "Monthly Progress Report on Foreign Investment" of the Department of Industry, the number of industries in the service and tourism sectors alone accounted for more than half of the industries that received foreign investment until the end of October. According to the details of the department, by the end of last October, the foreign investment proposals for 5,628 industries have been approved.

Among the industries that have been approved for foreign investment so far, there are 323 large industries, 622 medium industries and 4683 small industries. Similarly, it is mentioned in the details of the department that 297,935 people have been employed by more than 5,500 foreign investment companies so far.

The Department of Industry has been providing commercial passports to foreign investors or their official representatives and their family members based on the investment after the foreign investment is approved. It seems that the department recommended 459 foreigners for passports last October alone.
