Kathmandu. Commercial banks have earned a total profit of 67 billion 23 crores in the last 11 months of the last fiscal year 2079/80 i.e. until May. According to the statistics of Nepal Rastra Bank, Nabil Bank has earned the highest profit of 7 billion 113 million 35 lakh 80 thousand rupees.

Similarly, Global IME earned 6.55 billion 63 lakh 10 thousand rupees and Nepal Investment Mega Bank earned 4.76 billion 51 lakh 20 thousand rupees and ranked second and third respectively.

NIC Asia and National Commercial Bank were ranked fourth and fifth. NIC Asia earned a profit of 4.63 billion 11.4 million rupees and National Commercial Bank 4.47 billion 34 million 40 thousand rupees during that period.

It is mentioned in the statistics of Rashtra Bank that in 11 months, Agricultural Development Bank earned the lowest profit of 1 billion 56 crore 39 lakh rupees. Since the details of commercial banks are unrefined, the final net profit may be slightly different.

Currently, the total number of commercial banks in Nepal has  to 20. Laxmi and Sunrise have merged and integrated business has started under the name of Laxmi Sunrise Bank from last 14 th June 2023.
