Kathmandu. Rastra Bank has been providing up to 1,500 US dollars as a passport facility to Nepali citizens visiting countries other than India through the new monetary policy. Now it has been increased to 2500 dollars. Now those who go abroad on a visit visa will get a maximum of $2,500 in cash.

But the facility to exchange dollars will be available only twice in a year. First of all, the provision that dollar exchange cannot be done more than twice within one year from the date of exchange has been maintained. However, the same facility can be availed by showing reasonable cause. But this means that Nepalis should not visit foreign countries more than 2 times a year. This is the old system.

Air service providers, i.e. companies operating helicopters and airplanes, will get credit facilities of up to 100,000 US dollars from commercial banks to pay various service fees. Based on the approval/recommendation of the regulatory body and the prescribed documents, they are allowed to exchange US dollars or other convertible foreign currency (equivalent to 100,000 dollars).
