Kathmanu. Commercial banks have made public new interest rates for the month of Chaitra. Most of the 20 existing commercial banks have kept the deposit interest rates unchanged from the previous month. Three banks have reduced the interest rates in the interest rates made public, effective from Chaitra 1. The average interest rate in the month of Falgun, which was 6.01 percent, has decreased to 5.93 percent for the month of Chaitra.

The maximum interest rate on fixed deposits is that of NIC Asia Bank and NMB Bank. NIC and NMB have set an interest rate of 6.6 percent for the month of Chaitra. Similarly, the minimum interest rate is 4.75 percent for Lakshmi Sunrise Bank. Lakshmi Sunrise has reduced the interest rate compared to Falgun. Similarly, both Himalayan Bank and Nepal Bank have reduced the interest rate to 5.5 percent.

Similarly, Standard Chartered Bank has fixed an interest rate of 6.25 percent, Sanima Bank has fixed an interest rate of 6.05 percent, Prabhu Bank has fixed an interest rate of 6 percent, Global IME Bank, Siddhartha Bank and Machhapuchre Bank have fixed an interest rate of 6 percent. Prime Commercial Bank has fixed an interest rate of 6.25 percent, Nepal Investment Megha Bank has fixed an interest rate of 6.5 percent, Everest Bank has fixed an interest rate of 6 percent, Nabil Bank has fixed an interest rate of 5.75 percent, Kumari Bank has fixed an interest rate of 5.81 percent, Nepal SBI Bank has fixed an interest rate of 5.5 percent, Krishi Bikas Bank has fixed an interest rate of 5.51 percent and Rastriya Banijya Bank has fixed an interest rate of 6 percent for the month of Chaitra.
