An Overview of Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE) Introduction: Securities Exchange Center was established with an objective of facilitating and promoting the growth of capital markets in 1976 and later Nepal Government, under a program initiated to reform capital markets, converted Securities Exchange Center into Nepal Stock Exchange in 1993. The Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE) is the only Stock Exchange of Nepal. NEPSE opened its trading floor on 13 January 1994 and as on April 4, 2013, the number of listed companies is 334. It has 50 registered brokers as of April 2019. It is located in Singha Durbar Plaza, Kathmandu, Nepal. The current paid up capital of NEPSE is approximately USD 4.5 million. Government of Nepal, Nepal Rastra Bank, Rastriya Banijya Bank and other securities businessperson are the shareholders of NEPSE.
