Online nominations for the fifth edition of the ICT Awards have started. The online application for the ICT Award 2020, organized by Living with ICT and in collaboration with various government and private organizations, has been opened till July 30.

This year, ICT Awards will be organized in 11 different categories. The Innovation in Crisis Response ICT Award and the Woman Icon ICT Award are new genres added.

Startup ICT Awards, Product ICT Awards, Rising Student ICT Awards are the genres related to innovation, products and startups. Similarly, Pioneer ICT Award, Nepali Diaspora ICT Award, Entrepreneur ICT and Media Person ICT Award are given to individuals.

The Digital Governance ICT Award is an award genre awarded to a government institution and the Digital Education ICT Award to a community educational institution.

1. ICT Startup Award

To participate in this award, which promotes and encourages companies working in the field of IT products, services and innovation, the company must be registered and operating in accordance with the prevailing laws of Nepal.

Companies registered during the last 3 years, 9th Fiscal Year 2074 and 075 to 2076 and 0770 can apply in this category.

2. ICT Product Award

Nominations for IT products developed by any Nepali company, organization, group or individual can be registered in the ICT Product Award. Nominations can be registered in this category for the IT products that have been made public from April 2076 to mid-April 2076.

3. Rising Student ICT Award

The Rising Student ICT Award is a targeted award for higher education and university students. This category includes IT projects and products created by students.

4. Innovation in Crisis Response ICT Award

New innovations developed in an effort to control and solve the problem created by the Covid-19 epidemic can be nominated in this category.

Various applications, software, hardware, robots and technologies developed to show the importance of innovation and technology in crisis resolution will be considered worthy of this genre.

In this category, there should be technologies and innovations that have been made public from January 2076 to the last day of application for 9 days of nomination.

5. Pioneer ICT Award

This award will be given to a distinguished person who has contributed in the field of information and communication technology for a long time.

People who have been contributing in the field of information technology for the last 15 years can apply for this award. In this category, nomination can be made in person or in the name of the person concerned.

6. Nepali Diaspora ICT Award

This award will be given to a person of Nepali origin who is living abroad and highly appreciates his / her contribution in the field of information technology of the country. Nepalis who are contributing in the field of information technology even while living abroad can apply in this category. Nomination application can be made in this category by oneself or any other person.

7. Entrepreneur ICT Award

Entrepreneur ICT Award will be given to Nepali entrepreneurs active in the field of information technology.

In order to register a nomination in this category, one should have been active for at least 5 years as an entrepreneur in the field of information technology. Nomination can be submitted in this category by mentioning all the details in the name of the person concerned or by himself or someone else.

8. Woman Icon ICT Award

The Woman Icon ICT Award is aimed at Nepali women working in the field of information technology. Women entrepreneurs, leaders, managers, innovators working in the IT sector can apply for it.

In this category, nomination can be submitted by mentioning all the details in the name of the person concerned or himself or someone else.

8. Media Person ICT Award

This award will be given to the journalists active in news reporting, communication and publication by making the information and communication technology sector the main bit.

Journalists with at least 3 years of experience can apply. Nomination can be submitted in this category by mentioning all the details in the name of the person concerned or by himself or someone else.

9. Digital Education ICT Award

The Digital Education ICT Award is given to government and community educational institutions with the objective of encouraging the education sector to become technology friendly.

Educational institutions including schools and campuses will be able to apply in this category. Anyone can submit the nomination form by mentioning all the information in this category.

10. Digital Governance ICT Award

This award is given to the government organization which is making the government service technology technology friendly and operating the service in a fast, easy and transparent manner.

Nominations can be made in this category representing government agencies, authorities, departments, local bodies, etc. that serve the citizens.
