Kathmandu. Failure to comply with the Covid-19 Crisis Management Ordinance issued by the President only four days ago could result in imprisonment for up to one year and a fine of up to Rs 500,000 or both. The District Administration Office, Kathmandu has issued a notice today stating that those who obstruct any work as per the ordinance may be punished.

The notice also states that the criteria issued as per the ordinance should be followed and those who do not follow the prescribed criteria can be imprisoned for up to six months and fined up to Rs 300,000 or both. Orders issued as per the ordinance should also be followed. A person who disobeys the order may be fined up to one hundred thousand rupees. If the organization does not follow the order, an immediate fine of up to Rs. 500,000 may be imposed by the Chief District Officer.

It is mentioned that if you drive in a public place without wearing a mask, you will be fined Rs 100 each, if you go out without work, you will be fined Rs 200 each.

The security personnel can also hold such vehicles, the notice said. In addition to the punishment, the Chief District Officer can order the closure of the organization violating the ordinance for up to six months.
