Saudi started the World Cup with a brilliant victory over Argentina, overturning a one-goal deficit. Argentina, which is the main contender for the title, suffered defeat in the first game. After this defeat, Argentina's unbeaten streak of 36 matches has ended.

Earlier, Saudi Arabia, who did not win a single match while playing four matches against Argentina, defeated Argentina for the first time.
