Announcing the Economic Survey Report 076 and 77 in the Federal Parliament, the Finance Minister has estimated that the economic growth rate will shrink to 2.3 percent in the current fiscal year. The budget for the current fiscal year had set a growth target of 8.5 percent. In the last Fiscal Year 2075/76, Nepal's economic growth was 6.75 percent.
The Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) had earlier released data on April 29 stating that the economic growth rate would be 2.27 percent this year. The government, on the other hand, has increased its estimate by 0.03 percent.
