Kathmandu. The bank branches are in operation during the lock-down. Initially, the bank counties were not crowded. But after the second week of May, the crowds at the bank's branch counties have started to increase. Banks have been overcrowded this year as the private industry sector has become somewhat looser. The crowd at the bank has increased even after the servicemen started coming out in a hurry as the lock-down was getting longer.
Banks have not been able to open all branch offices. Bank operators say that the crowd has increased due to not being able to provide full service even in the open branches. Thus, with the increase in congestion in the bank, the security measures of the bank do not look satisfactory. With the exception of a few bank branches, most of the bank branches do not seem to maintain social distance. Customers are crowded at the counter. Bank employees also do not wear reliable PPE. Some of the masks are also worn correctly.
The bankers have complained that the government has given less vehicle passes to the bank employees and the police has not allowed them to walk on the basis of the bank's identity card.
Anil Kesari Shah, the outgoing president of the Nepal Bankers' Association, said that a crowd was seen at the bank when the vehicle passes were tightened.
In the experience of public health expert Rabindra Pandey, increasing the congestion in the bank has increased the risk of corona.
Make bank staff and customers safe
Pandey , He says personal distance is the best way for bank staff and customers to avoid corona infection. It is imperative that every bank maintains a distance of 6 feet. We may have to maintain social distance for 1 and 2 years. Therefore, there is no alternative to the above-mentioned arrangement and practice
I went to the bank for work and there was a big crowd at the bank as the branch was open for a limited time 1 or 2 days a week.
Some of the staff wore masks so that they could see the face from above, some of the staff wore masks under the nose and neck and when talking to the customer, the distance was not even half a foot and the table used by the customer and staff was 1 foot. There seemed to be a compulsion and everyone was using the same table, the same dot pen, the same checkbook, the same register and the banks had to make special arrangements to eliminate that risk of corona infection.
