Kathmandu. Finance Minister Dr. Yuvaraj Khatiwada has said that the spread rate will fall to 4 percent by mid-July.
The spread rate, which was 8-9 percent, is now around 5 percent.
The Finance Minister said that the government and NRB will work on it through monetary policy in the coming days.
He said that the bank would also face problems if it tries to go from normal profit to unnatural profit. Banks said that making unnatural profits would kill industries and put banks in trouble.
During the meeting, Minister Khatiwada said that the revenue raised daily could not cover the expenses.
He said that even though Rs 40 billion is currently spent on mandatory liabilities, Rs 14 billion is raised from customs and the rest is raised from internal revenue.
