Kathmandu. The latest news has come in the market that Nepal Investment Bank is planning to acquire Citizens Bank International.
After a long struggle with Himalayan Bank for the merger, no decision has been taken yet.
It is understood that no further efforts have been made due to the backing of the CEO and Chairman of the Investment Bank in the merger with Himalayan Bank.
According to a director of the Investment Bank, the two banks had a one-stage discussion on the issue but the rest of the process has not moved forward. However, sources said that it would not take long for the two banks to reconcile if only the two presidents agreed.
Citizens Bank has also stated that it is ready to merge if Nepal Investment Bank gives a swap price of 1: 1.
