Kathmandu. Banks' earnings per share have declined in Corona. In FY 2076/77, it decreased by 19.66 percent as compared to the previous year.
In the previous Fiscal Year 2075/76, the average earnings per share (EPS) of a commercial bank was Rs. 25.26. By mid-July of the last fiscal year, it has decreased by Rs 4.97 to an average of Rs 20.3.
In the previous fiscal year, banks had earned a net profit of Rs 63.41 billion. Of these, all but two commercial banks have earned over Rs 1 billion in net profit.
EPS of banks earning more than Rs 1 billion in the last fiscal year has also declined.
Banks raising EPS
Century, Siddhartha and NCC Bank have also increased their EPS compared to last year.
Siddhartha Bank
Siddhartha Bank has managed to earn Rs 3.2 billion by increasing its net profit by 8.26 percent or Rs 272.8 million in the previous fiscal year. The bank's EPS also increased by 14.30 percent or Rs 2.73 paise to Rs 10.77 paise in the same period.
Century Commercial Bank
Compared to the previous fiscal year, the net profit of Century Commercial Bank has decreased by 33.99 percent in the last fiscal year and has been limited to Rs. 906.3 million. However, the bank has increased its APS by 33.96 percent during the period. The bank has increased its EPS from Rs 8.04 paise in the previous fiscal year to Rs 10.77 paise in the last fiscal year.
NCC Bank
NCC Bank has increased its EPS by 2.20 percent in mid-July last year. In the previous fiscal year, the bank has increased the EPS from Rs 11.83 to Rs 12.09. The bank has earned a net profit of Rs 1.13 billion in the same period.
Commercial banks to reduce EPS by earning more than Rs
As of mid-July last year, 25 commercial banks have made a profit of over Rs 1 billion. However, earnings per share (EPS) of 24 banks declined in the same period compared to the previous year.
Global IME Bank
Global IME Bank's EPS has declined by 39.27 percent to Rs 16.27 paise in the last fiscal year. In the previous fiscal year, the bank's EPS was Rs 26.79. The bank has earned a net profit of Rs 3.8 billion in the last fiscal year.
Nepal SBI Bank
Nepal SBI Bank has reduced its EPS by 37.01 percent in the last fiscal year. In the previous fiscal year, EPS was Rs 27.13 paise, but in the last fiscal year, it has been limited to Rs 17.09 percent. The bank has earned a net profit of Rs 1.53 billion in the last fiscal year.
Prabhu Bank
Prabhu Bank had an EPS of Rs 21.03 in the previous fiscal year. By mid-July last year, it had declined by 33.76 percent or Rs 7.10 to Rs 13.93. The bank has earned a net profit of Rs 1.36 billion during the period.
Nepal Investment Bank Nepal Investment Bank had an EPS of Rs 26.43 paise in the previous fiscal year. The bank has reduced its EPS by 31.63 percent or Rs 8.36 paise to Rs 18.07 paise in the same period last year. The bank has earned a net profit of Rs 2.57 billion in the same period.
Sanima Bank
Sanima Bank's EPS has declined by 31.43 percent or Rs 8.87 paise in the last fiscal year. In the previous fiscal year, EPS decreased by 28 rupees 22 paise to 19 rupees 35 paise. The bank has earned a net profit of Rs 1.70 billion in the same period.
Prime Commercial Bank
Prime Bank's EPS, which earned a net profit of Rs 2.29 billion last year, has declined by 30.55 percent. In the previous fiscal year, EPS has decreased by Rs 23.6 paise to Rs 16.39 paise from Rs 7.21 paise in mid-July last year.
Bank of Kathmandu
Bank of Kathmandu's EPS, which earned a net profit of Rs 1.47 billion last fiscal year, has declined by 26.65 percent. The bank had an EPS of Rs 23.53 in the previous fiscal year. Of which, it has decreased by Rs 6.27 paise to Rs 17.26 paise in the last fiscal year.
Nabil Bank
Nabil Bank had an EPS of Rs 50.57 in the previous fiscal year. By mid-July last year, it had declined by 26.36 per cent or Rs 13.33 to Rs 37.24. The bank has earned a net profit of Rs 3.56 billion during the period.
Machhapuchhre Bank
Machhapuchhre Bank has earned a net profit of Rs 1.25 billion in the last fiscal year. The bank's EPS for the same period is Rs 12.92. Which is 26.13 percent or 5 rupees 26 paise less than the previous year.
Citizens Bank
Citizens Bank, which had an EPS of Rs 17.49 in the previous fiscal year, has declined by 26.13 percent in the last fiscal year. In the previous year's EPS, it has decreased by Rs 4.57 to Rs 17.49. The bank has earned a net profit of Rs 1.11 billion in the same period.
Sunrise Bank
In the previous fiscal year, Sunrise Bank's EPS was Rs 20.94. Of which, it has decreased by 25.84 percent or Rs 5 to Rs 15.53 paise till mid-July last year. The bank has earned a net profit of Rs 1.39 billion during the period.
Nepal Bangladesh Bank
Nepal Bangladesh Bank's EPS has decreased by 23.54 percent or Rs 4.62 paise to Rs 19.63 paise as compared to the previous year. The bank has earned a net profit of Rs 1.80 billion in the same period.
Agricultural Development Bank
The EPS of the Agriculture Development Bank, which earned a net profit of Rs 3.56 billion last fiscal year, has declined by 18.71 percent. EPS, which was Rs 40.45 in the previous fiscal year, has decreased by Rs 7.57 in mid-July last year and has been limited to Rs 32.88.
Standard Chartered Bank
Standard Chartered Bank has earned a net profit of Rs 1.98 billion in the last fiscal year. The bank's EPS declined by 18.53 percent to Rs 24.76 during the period. In the previous fiscal year, the bank's EPS was Rs 30.39.
Everest Bank
Everest Bank's APS has decreased by 18.13 percent in the last fiscal year as compared to the previous fiscal year. In the previous fiscal year, EPS decreased by Rs 38.05 paise to Rs 31.15 paise from Rs 6.90 paise last fiscal year. The bank has earned a net profit of Rs 2.49 billion in the same period.
Himalayan Bank
In the previous fiscal year, the EPS of Himalayan Bank was Rs 32.44. By mid-July last year, the bank's EPS had dropped by 16.37 percent, or Rs 5.31, to Rs 27.13. The bank has earned a net profit of Rs 2.54 billion in the same period.
Nepal Bank
Nepal Bank had earned a net profit of Rs 2.55 billion in the last fiscal year. The bank's EPS for the same period is Rs 22.66. Which is 16.04 percent or Rs. 4.33 less than the previous year.
Laxmi Bank
Lakshmi Bank has reduced its EPS by 15.10 percent to Rs 15.13 paise from Rs 17.82 paise in the previous fiscal year. The bank had earned a net profit of Rs 1.48 billion in the same period.
Rastriya Banijya Bank
Rastriya Banijya Bank had earned a net profit of Rs 4.45 billion last fiscal year. The bank's EPS for the same period is Rs 49.45. This is a decrease of 11.76 percent or Rs 6.59 paise compared to the previous year.
NMB Bank
NAB Bank, which made a net profit of Rs 2.27 billion last fiscal year, has an EPS of Rs 16.73. In the previous fiscal year, the bank's EPS was Rs 18.79. Which is 10.96 percent more than last year.
Kumari Bank
