Kathmandu: The risk of Corona Covid -19 has increased in the Kathmandu Valley and the number of employees of banks and financial institutions has also increased.

According to the information received, one and a half dozen employees working at the head office of Prime Commercial Bank have been confirmed to be infected. Test reports of some employees are yet to come. The majority of employees working in the bank's corporate department have been infected, sources said.

As of Saturday, 18 employees at the bank's head office had reported positive, the source said, adding that "many of them are high-ranking employees."

Meanwhile, the health report of six employees of Sunrise Bank's Gongbu branch has shown Covid-19 positive. The branch had 10 employees. The reports of 6 of them have come positive. Six employees of Thapathali branch of Nepal Investment Bank have also been infected with corona.

Everest Bank had also closed its head office for two days after two employees of the head office were seen corona.

So far, about two dozen employees of Rashtra Bank, Nepal Bank, Rastriya Banijya Bank, Krishi Vikas Bank, Global IME, NMB, Everest, Sanima, NIC Asia, Civil, Nepal SBI and about two dozen other commercial banks have been infected. With the increase in corona infestation in Kathmandu, the number of employees working in the branches and head offices of Upatyaka Bank has increased. NRB Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari has also been in self-isolation for a few days. After the corona 'positive' came to the employees who were in contact with him, the governor's officer was sitting in isolation working from home. There has been a transition in the supervision of the NRB head office and the staff in the money department.

The Bankers' Association has stated that high vigilance has to be adopted as the risk of corona has increased among the bank employees in recent days.
