Bank Deposit and Loan Interest Rate 2 Kathmandu. Seven commercial banks have announced the latest interest rates on Wednesday. Rastriya Banijya Bank, Nepal Credit and Commerce Bank, Sunrise Bank, Himalayan Bank, Nepal SBI Bank, Everest Bank and Standard Chartered Bank have announced interest rates on deposits and loans on Wednesday.
The state-owned Rastriya Banijya Bank has stated that it will pay 3 percent to 5 percent interest on ordinary deposits. The bank has stated that it will give 6 percent for individual deposits and 5 percent to a maximum of 7.25 percent for institutional deposits. On the loan side, the bank has stated that it will charge a minimum of 1.25 percent and a maximum of 3.25 percent at the base rate. The bank's base rate stood at 5.80 percent in mid-July.
Similarly, Everest Bank has stated that it will pay 2.50 percent to 4.50 percent interest on ordinary deposits. Everest Bank has stated that it will give 5.50 percent to 7.25 percent on the deposit. It has mentioned that the interest rate of the loan will be increased by 2 to 5 percent premium in the base rate. Everest Bank's base rate stood at 7.48 percent as of mid-July.
Himalayan Bank has stated that it will give 2 percent to 5 percent on ordinary deposit and 3 percent to 7.25 percent on time deposit. NCC Bank, on the other hand, has stated that it will give up to 5 percent on ordinary deposits and up to 8.25 percent on regular deposits. On the loan side, NCC will charge a premium of 2 to 5 percent on the base rate, the bank said. NCC Bank has a base rate of 9.03 percent till mid-July.
Similarly, Sunrise Bank will offer interest rates ranging from 2.50 percent to 4.50 percent on ordinary deposits and up to 7.75 percent on time deposits. On the loan side, Sunrise has said it will add a premium of up to 5 percent to the base rate. Sunrise has a base rate of 8.95 percent till mid-July.
Standard Chartered Bank offers interest rates ranging from 3 percent to 5 percent on ordinary deposits and up to 6.75 percent on time deposits. On the loan side, Standard Chartered Bank has said it will charge a premium of 2 percent to 7.25 percent at the base rate.
