Kathmandu. Shares worth Rs. 6.15 billion have been listed in the first month of FY 2077/78. Bonus shares worth Rs 2.93 billion, debentures worth Rs 2 billion and ordinary shares worth Rs 1.22 billion are listed on the Nepal Stock Exchange.
Nepal Rastra Bank has made public the report of the current fiscal year stating that the Nepal Securities Board has given permission to issue ordinary shares worth Rs. 638.6 million during this period.
The Nepse index, which stood at 1224 points in mid-July 2076 BS, has reached 1391.5 in 2077 BS. Such index was 1362.4 in mid-July 2012/13. The report states that the stock market capitalization reached Rs. 1836.79 billion in mid-July 2012/13. The market capitalization was Rs. 1792.76 billion in mid-July 2012/13.
Similarly, the number of companies listed on the Nepal Stock Exchange Limited in July 2012 is 208. Of the listed companies, 143 are banks and financial institutions and insurance companies, while 33 are hydropower companies, 19 are manufacturing and processing industries, 4/4 are hotels and businesses and 5 are other groups.
The number of listed companies was 212 in July 2012. Of the listed companies, banks and financial institutions and insurance companies have a share of 78.3 percent in the market capitalization, according to Rastriya Bank.
Similarly, the share of hydropower company is 5.2 percent, manufacturing and processing industry is 3.5 percent, hotel is 1.1 percent, business is 0.3 percent and other group companies have 11.6 percent.
The paid up value of 4 billion 830 million shares listed on the Nepal Stock Exchange Limited up to 2077 BS is Rs. 473.88 billion.
