Citizens Bank Earn 51 crore profit quarter in First

Citizens Bank International Limited has earned a net profit of Rs 515.591 million in the first quarter of the current fiscal year. This is 47.66 percent or Rs. 166.42 million more than the same period last year. The distributable profit of the bank has been Rs. 92.74 million during the period.

During the review period, the bank's net interest income increased by Rs. 138.47 million to Rs. 839.17 million. The operating profit of the bank has increased by Rs. 243.86 million and reached Rs. 733.07 million. The increase in net profit of the bank was Rs. 251.55 million in the first quarter of the last fiscal year as compared to Rs. 338.53 million in the same period of the current fiscal year.

Along with net profit, the bank's earnings per share has also improved. The income of the bank, which was Rs 16.20 paise till mid-October last year, has increased by Rs 6.49 paise to Rs 22.69 paise in the same period of the current fiscal year. The price-to-earnings ratio of the bank stood at 9.48 times while the net worth per share stood at Rs 153.40.

As of mid-October, the bank's paid-up capital stood at Rs 9.89 billion. The bank has a reserve fund of Rs 3.90 billion and a share premium of Rs 94.37 million. The bank has collected Rs 97.94 billion in deposits and disbursed Rs 82.64 billion in loans during the period.

Compared to mid-October last year, the NPL ratio of the bank has increased from 0.98 percent to 1.43 percent. Due to Kovid, the ratio of non-performing loans has gone up. The distress fund has declined from 8.30 per cent to 6.79 per cent while the bank's spread rate has been 4.40 per cent. The bank has a CCD ratio of 73.50 percent and a base rate of 8.81 percent.
