The share market index Nepse has risen on the first day after the tenth holiday. On Wednesday, the Nepse index increased by 41.20 points and closed at 1647.46 points.
During the trading period, 93,22,085 shares of 188 companies were bought and sold 42,618 times, bringing the turnover to Rs 2.72 billion.
The banking sector index rose by 55.15 points, life insurance by 110.68 points and development bank by 60.97 points on Wednesday. Similarly, non-life insurance increased by 47.07 points, hotel by 32.85 points, microfinance by 25.19 points, manufacturing and processing by 20.88 points, finance by 13.38 points, hydropower by 3.86 points, mutual funds by 0.13 points and others by 14.57 points. The trade group index declined by 8.83 points.
Shares of Prime Commercial Bank, Nepal Finance and Citizens Bank had a positive circuit break on Wednesday. Investors in Prime, Nepal Finance, Citizens Bank, Prabhu Bank and Sunrise Bank made higher profits from the market on Wednesday, while investors in Panchakanya Mai, Reedy, Mountain, National and Dibyashwori Hydropower suffered losses.
Shares of Global IME Bank had the highest turnover of over Rs 206.5 million on Wednesday, while the second biggest attraction of investors was seen in the shares of Prime Commercial Bank. Shares of the bank worth more than Rs 170 million were traded on Wednesday.
