Seven banks have already declared dividends. Investors have also been relieved by the banks announcing dividends during the festive season.
Banks have declared a minimum dividend of 10.4 to 20 percent. NIC Asia Bank has declared the highest dividend of 20 percent.
NIC has 19 percent bonus and 1 percent cash. Similarly, Machhapuchche has 7.03 percent bonus and 3.37 percent cash. Among other banks that have declared dividends, Bank of Kathmandu has declared 13 percent bonus and 16 percent with 3 percent cash, Kumari Bank has declared 10 percent and 14 percent with 4 percent cash.
Sanima Bank has declared 13.6 percent with 10 percent bonus and 3.6 percent cash and Citizens Bank has declared 7.7 percent bonus and 11 percent dividend with 3.3 cash.
Similarly, Global IME Bank has declared a 16 percent dividend. It has 14 percent bonus share and 2 percent cash dividend.
NRB had taken the policy of distributing bonus shares to banks and financial institutions by tightening the cash dividend due to the monetary policy. Banks and financial institutions can pay only up to 30 percent cash dividend out of the total dividend.
