Kathmandu. The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index closed higher on Wednesday. The market had been booming since it opened.
A total of 991,003 shares of 208 companies have been bought and sold for Rs 4.44 billion. Shares of Salt Trading Corporation Limited, Citizens Investment Fund and Himalayan Distillery Limited rose the most today. Shares of Salt Trading rose 10 percent, Citizens Investment Fund rose 9.99 percent and Himalayan Distillery rose 9.99 percent. Salt Trading's share price stood at Rs 5,710, Citizens' Investment Fund at Rs 3,368 and Himalayan Distillery at Rs 5,098.
Similarly, the highest priced shares have been bought and sold by Shivam Cement. Shares of the company worth Rs 344.4 million have been bought and sold. Of the 12 groups that came into business, the index of hotel group and development bank group has decreased while the index of the remaining groups has increased. The highest increase was in the manufacturing and processing group at 6.89 percent.
