May 1, International Labor Day: Let's save, Save, Implement decent employment and social security. '

Kathmandu. May 1, International Workers' Day. A new variant of the corona virus has affected the 132nd International Workers' Day this year in many countries around the world, including Nepal. Even on the 131st Labor Day, no formal program was held because of Corona. This year's day is being celebrated in Nepal with the slogan 'Let's save from the Corona epidemic, let's provide decent employment, let's implement social security'.

Last year, Corona's devastation caused workers to face the most problems in the country's long-running captivity. Not only in Nepal, but all over the world. According to the International Labor Organization (ILO), two out of every five people in Nepal lost their jobs due to corona last year. As they have lost their jobs, the workers are worried that another variant of Corona will come and get the same job.

Recently, the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC) has projected that 7.8 million people will lose their jobs in 2021 due to the corona epidemic. The ITUC has projected that 13 million jobs will be lost in the world during this period and urged the trade unions to be vigilant for the employment security of the workers as the exporting countries like Nepal will be further affected.
