Profits of commercial banks increased by 14 percent,  Highest Profit earned by Nabil Bank

Kathmandu. The 27 commercial banks operating in the country have increased their net profit by about 14 percent in the last fiscal year 2077-78 BS. In the previous fiscal year, 27 commercial banks had earned net profit of Rs 54.31 billion.

Nabil Bank has been earning the most profit in the last fiscal year. The bank has earned a profit of Rs 4.5 billion. Its profit is 30.06 percent higher than the previous year. Similarly, Global IME Bank is in the second place. The bank has earned a net profit of Rs 4.12 billion. This is an increase of 41.87 percent over the previous year.

Rastriya Banijya Bank is the third most profitable bank. The bank has earned a net profit of Rs 3.79 billion during the period. Such profit of the bank was Rs 4.37 billion last year. The fourth most profitable is the Agriculture Development Bank. The bank earned a profit of Rs 3.69 billion last year. Similarly, Nepal Investment Bank, which is in the fifth position, has earned a profit of Rs 3.65 billion.

Among those earning more than Rs 3 billion last year were Nepal Bank, Himalayan Bank, NIC Asia Bank and Prime Commercial Bank. They have earned their own profit.

Siddhartha Bank, Prabhu Bank, Mega Bank, Kumari Bank, Nepal Bangladesh Bank, NMB and Sanima Bank have earned net profit of more than Rs 2 billion. Siddhartha Bank earned Rs 2.83 billion, Mega Bank Rs 2.30 billion, Kumari Bank Rs 2.11 billion, Nepal Bangladesh Bank Rs 2.29 billion and NMB Bank Rs 2.73 billion. Sanima Bank has made a profit of Rs 2.27 billion and Prabhu Bank has made a profit of Rs 2.1 billion. The profits of all these banks have increased by more than 30 percent.

Similarly, Citizens, Lakshmi, Everest, Sunrise, Machhapuchhe, NCC, Standard Chartered and Bank of Kathmandu have made a profit of over Rs 1 billion in the last fiscal year, while Civil, SBI and Century have made a profit of less than Rs 1 billion. Citizens Bank International Rs 1.59 billion, Lakshmi Bank Rs 1.54 billion, Everest Bank Rs 1.82 billion, Sunrise Bank Rs 1.58 billion, Machhapuchche Bank Rs 1.61 billion, NCC Bank Rs 1.27 billion. Standard Chartered has earned a net profit of Rs 1.17 billion and Bank of Kathmandu Rs 1.12 billion.

Civil Bank has earned a profit of Rs 550 million, Nepal SBI Bank Rs 960 million and Century Commercial Bank Rs 750 million. Of this, SBI's profit declined by 38 percent and 6.77 percent.
