Kathmandu, According to the plan to merge Himalayan and Nepal Investment Bank to form 'Himalayan and Nepal Investment' Bank, many preparations for the merger have been completed, said Ashok Shamsher Jabra, Chief Executive Officer of Himalayan Bank.
The long-running dispute over which software to use for the bank's core banking system is over. According to Rana, who is also the chief executive officer of the bank to be formed after the merger, the 'T24' (T24) software currently being used by Himalayan will be used. Nepal Investment is using Finacle software.
The T24 is a product of the Swiss company Terminus. Teminus software is the most popular in the world. This software is considered to be the most secure banking software in the world for the last decade and a half. Its security mechanism is considered to be strong as it includes all the systems used inside and outside the bank.
Now that an agreement has been reached on the software, there is a debate on how to create the bank's 'logo'. Probably, the meeting of the merger committee will be able to decide the logo today, said the concerned banker. Once the logo is fixed, the general meeting of both the banks can be scheduled today. NRB has already given approval to both the banks to hold a general meeting before the merger.
