Kathmandu. Global IME Bank Limited and Bank of Kathmandu Limited have jointly organized the nationwide Prabhatferi program. On the occasion of the merger of Global IME Bank Limited and Bank of Kathmandu Limited, the two banks have jointly organized Prabhatferi program in major cities of Nepal including Kathmandu Valley. Global IME Bank Limited and Bank of Kathmandu Limited are starting a joint transaction under the name of Global IME Bank from 25th January.
Global IME Bank Chairman Chandra Prasad Dhakal, members of the board of directors of both banks, chief executive officers and more than 1,000 employees of the two banks were present at the Prabhatferima.
The employees present in Prabhatferi with financial literacy placards and banners walked from the Pragya Pratishthan in Kamaladi, Kathmandu and circumambulated the main parts of the city and also circumambulated the main cities outside the Kathmandu valley.
After the merger, the total capital of the bank is Rs. 57 billion, paid up capital Rs. 35.77 billion, total deposits of Rs. 400 billion and a total loan of Rs. will reach more than 379 billion. The new bank formed after the merger will become the largest bank in Nepal in terms of total capital, paid-up capital and business size. The Board of Directors of the new bank will consist of 5 people including Chairman Chandra Prasad Dhakal on behalf of Global IME Bank and 2 people on behalf of Bank of Kathmandu.
Similarly, Ratnaraj Bajracharya, the chief executive officer of Global IME Bank, will remain as the chief executive officer of the bank. 5 commercial banks, 10 development banks and 6 finance companies will be included in Global IME Limited which will be formed by merging 21 banks and financial institutions.
After the merger of the two banks, Global IME Bank Limited will be the largest bank in the country with a total of 365 branches, 367 ATMs, 286 branchless banking services, 61 extended branch offices, 3 foreign contact offices, more than 40 million customers and many other financial indicators.
