According to Nepal Rastra Bank, as of January 3, the total deposits of banks and financial institutions are 53 trillion 54 billion rupees. The total deposit was 53 trillion 11 billion rupees as of last January 25th. According to this calculation, 43 billion rupees of deposits have been added to the banking system during this one week period.

The total deposits of commercial banks have increased by 35 billion rupees during this one week period. The total deposit of commercial banks was 46 trillion 80 billion rupees till January 25th, but it has increased to 47 trillion 15 billion rupees as of 3rd January.

Similarly, during this period, the credit investment of banks and financial institutions also increased by 39 billion rupees. The total credit investment of banks and financial institutions was 47 trillion 78 billion rupees till January 25th, and it has increased to 48 trillion 17 billion rupees as of 3rd January.

The credit investment of commercial banks also increased by 37 billion rupees during this period and reached 42 trillion 67 billion rupees as of January 3. The total loan investment of commercial banks was 42 trillion 30 billion rupees as of last January 25th. On January 3, the average CD ratio of banks has been maintained at 86.64 percent. The average CD ratio on January 25 was 86.65 percent. The interbank interest rate increased to 7.22 percent on January 3. On December 25, the interbank interest rate was 6.14 percent.
