Kathmandu. In the 6 months of the current financial year, the total public debt of Nepal has reached 23 trillion 84 billion 48 billion rupees. Out of this, the internal debt is equal to 11 trillion 98 billion four crore 22 million and the external debt is equal to 11 trillion 86 billion 44 million 38 million.

In the last financial year 2079-80, the total public debt of Nepal was equal to 22 trillion 99 billion 35 million. In other words, public debt equal to 85 billion 13 million has been added in just 6 months of the current year. To pay the interest of the debt, 1 trillion 16 billion 58 million five lakh has been spent.
