Kathmandu. Big insurance companies have increased their investment in the stock market. Companies have added 4 billion 11 billion rupees to the investment stock market within one year. This is shown in the third quarter financial statement of the current financial year 2080/81 published by Nepal Insurance Authority recently. From July to mid-March, life and non-life insurance companies have invested 18 billion 674 million rupees in the stock market. Which is 28.23 percent more than the same period last year.
Life insurance companies have the largest investment in the stock market. Companies increased by 31.69 percent to 15 billion 989 million rupees. On the other hand, non-life insurance companies also increased by 15.43 percent to 3.57 billion 56 lakh rupees. In the third quarter of last year, they invested 11.46 billion 51 lakh rupees and 43.9 billion 74 lakh rupees respectively in the share market of life and non-life insurance companies.
Insurance companies have been investing in bank fixed deposits, stock market, real estate, preferential founder shares of banks and financial institutions, infrastructure sectors including agriculture, tourism and water resources, citizen investment funds and other funds.
Himalayan Life has raised investments in the stock market
Himalayan Life is ahead to increase the maximum investment. The company has increased the investment of 873 million rupees in the stock market to 2 billion 83 million rupees. Similarly, National Life Insurance Company has an investment of 2.15 billion 94 million rupees, and LIC Nepal has an investment of 1.46 billion 85 million rupees.
Neco and Saliko Insurance company investments decreased in the stock market
Neco Insurance has increased the most investment in the stock market among the non-engineered insurance companies. Compared to the third quarter of last year, Neko has added 23 million 24 million rupees to the investment stock market. At present, such investment of the company has reached 378 million rupees. On the other hand, Sagarmatha Lumbini (Salico) has also raised 18.47 million rupees to 55.9 million rupees in the stock market.
The highest investment is seen in the National Insurance Company (Rs. 794.1 million), it has decreased by 2.02 percent or 1.63 million. On the other hand, Siddharth Premier also has an investment of 59 million 19 million in the stock market.
Oriental and National Insurance have also not invested in the stock market. Investment in the stock market of three non-life insurance companies (Nepal, Prabhu and Rastriya Bima) has decreased during the review period.
