Kathmandu. The government has appointed Hitendra Dev Shakya as the Executive Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority. The Cabinet meeting decided to kick out Kulman Ghising from the post and appoint Shakya in his place. The Cabinet meeting had decided to dismiss Executive Director Kulman Ghising.

Nepal Electricity Authority Executive Director Kulman Ghising has said that the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation does not have the authority to ask for clarification or take action on the matter of his removal from service. Responding to the 24-hour clarification sought by the ministry, he claimed that since he was appointed by the Council of Ministers for a period of four years, only the Council of Ministers has the authority to ask for clarification or take action on the matter of his removal.
