Kathmandu. The Nepal Bankers Association has informed that 26 employees of the banking sector have not yet been contacted due to the Rasuwa flood. 7 employees of Nepal Investment Mega Bank, 5 employees of Machhapuchhre Bank, 4/4 employees of NMB and Prabhu Bank, 2/2 employees of Laxmi Sunrise and Sanima Bank, 1/1 employee of Global IME and Himalayan Bank have not yet been contacted.
It is reported that 17 commercial banks in 17 branches of Nuwakot and Rasuwa districts have 172.4 million rupees in their vaults, 11.7 million rupees in their counters, and about 550 million rupees worth of goods have been damaged. These branches have made loans worth 2.42 billion rupees.
According to the banks, it seems that about seven billion rupees have been invested in the three projects. The 5 MW Mailung Khola Hydro, 20 MW Langtang Khola, 37 MW Trishuli Hydro, 111 MW Rasuwagadhi, and 512 kilowatt Prime Micro Hydro were damaged.
A loan of 258 million was invested in Mailung Khola Hydro under the leadership of NMB Bank through co-financing investment. Laxmi Sunrise Bank also invested 2.5 billion in Langtang Khola.
Nabil Bank invested 3.3 billion in the 37 MW Trishuli Hydro Company and 498 million in the 111 MW Rasuwagadhi.
Prabhu Bank invested 91.8 million in Prime Micro Hydro. Similarly, three under-construction projects with investment from banks have also been damaged.
Although loan investment has been assured in these three projects to be built by Blue Energy, Energy Engineering, and Hira Ratna Hydro Limited, the banks have not disclosed how much loan investment was made.
