Banks and finance are not allowed to issue rights share

Kathmandu. NRB is going to stop the issuance of right shares even to A, B and C class banks and financial institutions.

Dev Kumar Dhakal, executive director of the Department of Banking and Financial Institutions Regulation, clarified that the trend of not being able to issue rights on one's own and for the purpose of capital increase will be stopped now.

Earlier, while issuing a circular for the implementation of monetary policy, the NRB had clarified that it was prohibited to increase the capital of microfinance institutions by issuing rights.

NRB has stated that it has given priority to merger or acquisition by stopping the rights issue.
