If the corona virus is tested positive in a private laboratory, the insurance claim will not be paid
Kathmandu. The new rules will be implemented in Corona Insurance. The Insurance Committee has made a rule that if the corona virus is tested positive in a private laboratory, the corona insurance claim will not be paid.
The Insurance Committee has instructed the insurance companies not to pay in the circular issued in the name of the Insurance Committee if the test done in the private lab is positive.
The Insurance Committee has issued another directive on August 3 asking the government to recognize only PCR reports under the Corona Insurance Standards. The directive issued further clarifies the Corona Insurance Criteria, stating, “According to Article 1 of paragraph 3 of the Corona Insurance Criteria, 2077 issued by the Committee for Corona Insurance Claims, the Corona virus is tested by a body under the Ministry of Health, Government of Nepal. It is requested to make arrangements to pay only if it is found to be infected with Covid-19 disease.
Executive Director of the Insurance Committee Rajuraman Poudel said that the circular was issued after there were doubts in the Corona insurance claim. He said that this was done because there was room for doubt in the report that the corona was tested positive in a private lab.
