Nepal wins Three Nations Cup football title by defeating Bangladesh 2-1 in the final match

Kathmandu. Nepal has won the title of Three Nations Cup Football in Kathmandu. Nepal won the title by defeating Bangladesh 2-1 in the final match played at Dasharath Stadium on Monday.

Sanjog Rai scored for Nepal in the 18th minute and Vishal Rai in the 42nd minute. Bangladesh scored in the 83rd minute. Nepal, Bangladesh and Kyrgyzstan under-23 teams participated in the Three Nations Cup.

Nepal had dominated from the beginning of the game. In the 17th minute of the match, Anant Tamang's header was saved by Bangladesh goalkeeper Anisur Rahman and Nepal got a corner.

 Unmarked Sanjog Rai gave Nepal the lead in the 18th minute. This is his first goal in the national team.

Nepal lost the opportunity to double the lead in the 30th minute. Similarly, Vishal Rai doubled Nepal's lead in the 42nd minute by scoring a goal in a one-on-one.

This is the first time the Nepali team has scored a goal in 18 months. The last time Anjan Visht played against Chinese Taipei was in September 2019 in a World Cup qualifier. Nepal could not score in the next eight games.

Champion Nepal has received a prize of 5,000 US dollars. Bangladesh received 3,000 dollars. This is the third time that Nepal and Bangladesh have met in the final of football. Earlier, the two teams had played in the final in the first green of 1994 and the eighth green of 1999.
