Hundreds of patients have lost their sight due to this infection in different parts of India. The last time two people's eyes were taken out was at MY Hospital in Indore on Monday. These patients are 50 and 65 years old. To save his life, doctors had no choice but to remove his eyes.

These patients had already won the coronavirus. However, a new infection was seen in these patients who were free from corona infection. This new infection is called mucorrhoea in medical parlance and black fungus in common parlance. In these patients, the sugar level was very high. That is why they got fungal infection. Surprisingly, these two patients did not have any problems with diabetes before.

According to the Indian newspaper Dainik Bhaskar, these two cases seen in Indore are not new. There have been a number of recent cases of corona infection and coronary artery disease. It is a rare and deadly fungal infection. If left untreated, it can cause cataracts and even death. To prevent the infection from spreading to the rest of the body through the sinuses, ie the inner tissues of the nose, doctors should operate on the patient and remove the upper part of the infected eye or the upper part of the eyebrow.

Myocardial infarction can affect the patient's sinuses as well as the eyes, brain, lungs or skin. If left unmanaged, they can be left astray and lose the right path. Black fungus attacks most people with weakened immune systems. People with strong immunity are generally not considered to be at risk of black fungus. According to the Covid Task Force, coronary artery disease can increase the risk of death if infected with black fungus.

According to experts, the longer a patient stays in hospital and the longer he or she takes steroids, the greater the risk of black fungus. Black finger is already in the air and soil. Airborne particles of black fungus enter through the nose. From there it travels through the lungs and then through the bloodstream to the brain. The infection spreads from the nose through the sinuses to the eyes. X-rays or CT scans of the patient's chest or head can detect the infection.

This infection is not a new one. It is caused by a fungus called micromyocytes and is known as a rapidly spreading infection in the body. Earlier it was known as zygomycosis. This infection is now more common in patients with covid infection or who have recovered. If treated early, it can be cured with antifungal drugs, and if delayed, surgery may be needed to remove the infected organ.
