Bird flu found in Kathmandu Kirtipur and Chandragiri

Kathmandu. Bird flu has been confirmed again in Kathmandu. Bird flu has been confirmed in two places in Kirtipur of Kathmandu and in Turkey reared in Chandragiri.

Dr. Chandra Dhakal, information officer of the department, said that a team has been deployed to destroy the birds in the area after the bird flu infection was confirmed at two points in Kirtipur and one place in Chandragiri on Monday.

Technicians have been deployed to destroy about 800 turkeys and disinfect the area.

Bird flu has been confirmed in a real-time PCR test conducted at a central laboratory by the department after samples were collected following a report of an unnatural death in Turkey.
