Kathmandu. Nepal Rastra Bank has tightened its grip on internal remittances. When a bank sends money from one place to another within the country, a maximum of Rs 25,000 can be transacted. Earlier, the limit was Rs 1 lakh.
The bank said, "The remittance company and its sub-agents or sub-representatives are allowed to transact internal remittances in the country up to a maximum of Rs. The rupee has been fixed. '
However, the limit of remittance amount sent in cash from abroad to the concerned person or beneficiary in Nepal has been kept unchanged. The central bank has stated that no change has been made in the limit of cash remittances sent from abroad to concerned persons or relatives in Nepal.
