Earthquake update in Jajarkot Nepal : 128 dead and 140 injured in 6.4 magnitude earthquake

Kathmandu. 93 people died in Jajarkot and 36 in Rukum due to the earthquake that happened on 17 Kartik 2080 Friday night. DIG Kuwer Kadayat, Central Spokesperson of Nepal Police, informed Economic News that 55 people were injured. According to him, more rescue teams have gone from Kathmandu and said that more people buried in the rubble will be rescued. He said that a police team was dispatched from Chaurjahari Base Camp at 1:00 pm after receiving information about the huge loss of life due to the earthquake.

According to the police spokesperson, 36 people were injured in Rukum West, 85 people were injured there. Along with this, the death toll from the earthquake has reached 128, and a total of 140 people have been injured. The injured are being treated at a local hospital. He said that more rescue teams have been sent from Surkhet to the earthquake affected areas.

Chief District Officer Suresh Sunar informed that the death toll in Jajarkot has reached 37 due to the earthquake. According to him, there have been reports of hundreds of people injured in the earthquake.

According to him, 27 women and 10 men died in the earthquake. The earthquake has damaged Bheri, Nalgad, Kushe, Barekot and Chedagad in the district. After receiving the information that the houses were destroyed due to the earthquake, a rescue team of 40 and 20 people from Karnali province and police office was mobilized for rescue. Prazia Sunar said that all the security forces of the district have been mobilized.

According to Jajarkot Deputy Superintendent of Police Santosh Roka, Deputy Chief of Nalgad Municipality Sarita Singh also died in the earthquake. Electricity service has also been interrupted here due to the earthquake. He says that the rescue of the injured is becoming difficult due to the problem of road operation.

36 people died in the earthquake in Sani Bheri Rural Municipality of Rukum West. Among those killed in the earthquake that hit Ramidada in Jajarkot are 12-year-old Manisha Periyar, daughter of Mahaveer Damai of Ward No. 2 Pariyar Tol, 31-year-old Dhanvir Pun of Ward No. 1 Chinabagar, 28-year-old Chumnima Pun of the same ward, eight-year-old Yamraj Pun and two-year-old Sitam Pun.
