NRB Report : Nepal Rastra Bank net  profit is  87.6 billion Fiscal Year 2079/080

NRB made a profit of Rs 87.60 billion in FY 2022/23; Rs 25 billion to be allocated for govt. The Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) is said to allocate Rs 25 billion from its profit of the last fiscal year (FY) for the Government of Nepal.

Kathmandu. Nepal Rastra Bank is going to give 25 billion to the government of Nepal from the profit of the last financial year. The board of directors meeting passed the annual report audited by the external auditor for the financial year (FY) 2079/80 and made the decision. The meeting has mentioned in the annual report that it has been decided to allocate the amount to be separated from the bank's net profit to various necessary funds and provide the remaining surplus amount of 25 billion to the Government of Nepal.

The National Bank, which earned a profit of 87 billion 600 million 37 million 45 thousand in the last financial year, will allocate the amount in various funds and transfer 25 billion rupees to Nepal Sakar. In the financial year 2078/79, the profit of the Central Bank has also increased as it earned 61 billion 987 million 13 thousand in the last financial year.

In the financial year 2079/80, the total net operating income of Nepal Rastra Bank increased by 86.57 percent compared to the previous year and remained at 66 billion 92 million 71 lakh 33 thousand. Now in 2078/79 such income was 35 billion 87 crore 21 lakh 478 thousand.

In the net operating income of Rashtra Bank, the share of net interest income is 93.49 percent, the income from foreign exchange purchase and sale is 3.63 percent and the share of other operating income is 2.88 percent. Net interest income increased by 86.09 percent compared to the previous year and remained at 62 billion 57 million 25 lakh 48 thousand. Income from buying and selling foreign exchange increased by 19.76 percent and remained at 2.43 billion 2.6 million. Similarly, other income has been maintained at 1 billion 92 million 19 lakh 83 thousand.

The net income before foreign exchange and other asset revaluation gain/loss adjustment for the fiscal year 2079/80 increased by 112.81 percent compared to the previous year and remained at 60 billion 48 million 24 lakh 01 thousand. Such net income was 28 billion 42 million 768 thousand in the financial year 2078/79.
