Kathmandu: The base rate of all 20 commercial banks for the month of Baisakh has come to a single digit. Compared to March, the average base rate of commercial banks has decreased by 0.30 percentage points in May. The average base rate of commercial banks has remained at 8.75 percent in Baisakh. Earlier, the average base rate of commercial banks was 9.05 percent in 2080.

While the Aadhaar rates of 2 commercial banks were in double digits till March, in Baisakh the Aadhaar rates of all banks came to single digits. Standard Chartered Bank has the lowest base rate. Its base rate is only 7.36 percent. Similarly, National Commercial Bank's base rate is 7.42 percent and Everest Bank's base rate is 7.53 percent. Other 15 banks have base rates between 8 percent and 10 percent.
