IPO Opening 24 companies and  98 campaines  in the 'pipeline'

Kathmandu. The Nepal Securities Board has so far granted permission to 24 companies for the sale of ordinary shares (IPO). The board has granted permission to those companies to sell ordinary shares by the end of Chaitra of the current fiscal year.

According to the board, a total of 91.187 million 946 units of ordinary shares have been approved for sale. Its value is equivalent to Rs 9.1187 million 946 thousand.

Out of the total companies that have received permission, only 15 are from hydropower projects. Similarly, seven are from the production and processing sectors, while there are one company each from the development bank and the hotel and tourism sectors.


103 hydropower companies are listed and traded on the Nepal Stock Exchange. Among the companies that have received permission from the board and are awaiting permission, there are more hydropower companies.

Currently, a total of 98 companies have applied to the board for permission to sell ordinary shares. Of these, 18 are from the hotel and tourism sectors, 32 are from hydropower, and five are from investment companies. Similarly, there are 26 companies in production and processing, three in microinsurance, and 14 in other groups.
