Kathmandu. Corona virus (Covid-19) infection is on the rise in India. According to the Indian Ministry of Health on Friday, about 40,000 new corona infections have been added.

This is the highest number of new infections since November 29. In such a scenario, there are fears that the corona infection may reach a new high in India.

According to statistics, the number of corona infections in India has exceeded 11.51 million, of which 159,370 have died. In the last 24 hours, 154 people have died from corona in India.

In the last 24 hours, 65 percent of the newly infected people have been found in Maharashtra. Corona infections have also increased significantly in Punjab, Kerala, Karnataka, Gujarat and the capital Delhi, according to government data.

In the last one week alone, the number of new corona infections in India has increased by more than 20,000 daily. Corona infections have been declining in India since last September, but have recently resurfaced.

According to experts, the Coronavirus infection is on the rise due to the Indian government's failure to follow the necessary standards to control it. He also said that the infection has increased as people have stopped wearing masks and maintaining physical distance.

K Srinath Reddy, chairman of the Public Health Foundation of India, said the current situation was due to the fact that both sides did not follow the standards of corona control properly.
